Built an end-to-end spatial data engineering and climate risk modeling pipeline on Apple Silicon (arm64) using PyTorch, TorchGeo, GDAL, and cloud-native STAC infrastructure. The microservice programmatically ingests high-priority coastal infrastructure geometries (ports, helipads, power substations, and emergency facilities) via OSMnx and connects directly to Microsoft Planetary Computer's STAC catalog to stream signed COG (Cloud-Optimized GeoTIFF) elevation rasters. By projecting assets into metric coordinate reference systems (EPSG:32617) and applying hydrological elevation thresholding across IPCC sea-level rise scenarios (+1.0m, +2.0m, and +3.0m), the engine automatically calculates physical inundation boundaries, facility disruption rates, and total replacement asset exposure ($USD Millions) to inform institutional climate adaptation strategies.
